Switching Between the Pen and Selection Tool

If you're using a Tablet PC, you can instruct OneNote to automatically activate the pen when you're using a stylus. When you use the mouse, OneNote will automatically switch to the Selection tool.

This is a time-saving feature that assumes that you'll be using the mouse for selecting your handwriting. You're unlikely to use the mouse for entering handwriting, but you can use the stylus with the Selection tool.

To switch between the pen and Selection tool:

1. Choose Tools > Options > Handwriting.

2. Select Automatically Switch Between Pen and Selection Tool to enable this option (Figure 5.37).
